NAACP BRANCH ELECTIONS

 

Notice of September, October Meetings and November Election

 

Dear  Member,

 

Please note the following General Membership meetings of the NAACP

Cheltenham Area Branch, for the election of officers.

 

On September 17, 2018, 7:30 PM, at the Cheltenham Area Branch, the Nominating Committee Chair explained the election procedures.

 

All incumbents are up for re-election, and all office positions are open for any eligible member to be nominated. Any member can be nominated for an officer position or an at-large seat on the Executive Committee.

 

All members who want to be nominated must submit his/her consent form (click here) which confirms your consent to serve as a candidate.  A member does not have to be present to be nominated as long as his/her consent form is presented at the time he/she is nominated. That valid consent form must contain at least three signatures of a bona fide member of the Branch. Completed consent forms can be mailed to Cheltenham NAACP P.O Box 151 Wyncote, PA19095 or brought to the October 22nd General Body Meeting for signatures.

 

All nominees must be members in good standing at the Branch. A “Member in Good Standing,” shall mean that the person must be a bona fide member of the Branch and must live and work within the Branches jurisdiction.

 

The incumbents are:

President    Dr. Craig C. Browne

1st V. P.       Dr. William Taylor III

2nd V. P.      Sandra L. Jenkins

Secretary    Frederica D. Hale

Treasurer    Cynthia M. Green

 

On October 15, 2018 at Cheltenham Area Branch, there will be a report of the Nominating Committee, receipt of Nominations by Petition. All members whose memberships are current may be nominated for office. In order to sign a nominating petition, a member must be current as of 30 days before the October meeting.

 

On November 19, 2018, the election of officers will take place at LaMott Community Center Auditorium located at Willow and Sycamore Avenues, LaMott, PA. 19027. Polls will open from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. In order to vote in a Branch election, one must be a member in good standing of the Branch 30 days before the election. A form of identification is required.

 

Should a run-off election be necessary, that election shall occur on the same day at 8:45 at this location.
